Homeless German Shepherd cries like a human! I have never heard anything like this!!!

It's always heartbreaking to watch the beginning of these rescues - but the endings are always so s-weet!. The video has been viewed over 1M times in just a few days...

Rain was scared and expressed it in a way that I have never heard in my life!  Her cry was heartbreaking, and I am so happy that Carey Linnell called Hope For Paws and asked for help.

Her ears were eaten by flies, her coat was filthy, and I can't imagine what caused her to be so fearful.

Loreta Frankonyte was able to secure her, calm her down, and I initiated the first contact while Loreta was ready to pull her away from me if needed.  Rain never did anything aggressive, she allowed me to touch her and along with Carey, we gained her trust and got her into the crate and from there to the hospital.

Watch: Man Straddles Shark On Beach to Save It | National Geographic

A man and his friends were fishing at Jensen Beach in Florida when they spotted a blacktip shark that seemed to be caught in something. Fortunately for the shark, the beachgoers pulled it from the surf and removed a fishing line and hook from its body. Blacktip sharks migrate to Florida’s warmer waters in the winter. They’re around six feet long and often have encounters with humans since they hang out in shallow waters. Nonetheless, most incidents have involved minor bite wounds and there have been no known fatalities. Blacktip sharks are listed as “near threatened” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature due to commercial and recreational fishing.

A Brooklyn rat whose hunger for knowledge stretched wider than his whiskers would allow ended up needing a helping hand Tuesday when he got his head stuck in a city garbage can. 

The rat was rooting around the bottom of the wire-mesh can in Brooklyn when he saw a series of ventilation holes.

This is not the first time we’ve posted about Chinese female elders trying to do their part by saving dogs from being eaten.

A woman in China recently was reported to have paid over $1,000 to save 100 dogs from being killed and eaten during a dog-meat festival in the southern city of Yulin. A social-media campaign has even come together – #StopYulin2015, to bring light to the situation.

It is always good to hear stories like these coming out of China since, let’s face it, we often hear more about their consuming of dog meat, even though we’re sure they’re not the only ones. However, there are often two sides to a story as these elderly women have proven.
