A Brooklyn rat whose hunger for knowledge stretched wider than his whiskers would allow ended up needing a helping hand Tuesday when he got his head stuck in a city garbage can.
The rat was rooting around the bottom of the wire-mesh can in Brooklyn when he saw a series of ventilation holes.

He poked his head into one of them, but quickly learned he couldn’t get back out, according to Reuters photographer Lucas Jackson, who managed to take some cute photos of the trapped rat.
