A SURGERY loving model has had SIX RIBS removed – to look like a CARTOON character. Former electrician Pixee Fox , from North Carolina, USA, had already spent more than £70,000 on plastic surgery attempting to sculpt the perfect hourglass figure. But now she has taken her obsession even further by having her lower ribs removed – so she can shrink her waist to a record-breaking 14 inches. The 25-year-old, who is originally from Sweden, says she was inspired by animated characters like Jessica Rabbit, Aurora from Sleeping Beauty and Holli Would from Cool World. The extreme five-hour keyhole surgery operation cost £6,000 and was performed by plastic surgeon Dr Barry Eppley in Indianapolis, Indiana in October. The operation, which is irreversible, is usually performed for medical reasons but can be used for cosmetic purposes after extensive consultation.

The history of what has been referred to as “one of the finest cat pictures in the world” (Oakland Tribune, February 4, 1930, p. 50) dates back to the early 1890s when it was commissioned by cat enthusiast, Kate Birdsall Johnson of San Francisco. In 1891 Mrs. Johnson, possibly America’s greatest cat enthusiast, commissioned artist Carl Kahler to paint a portrait of some of her 350 cats who all lived in great luxury in her California home.

What is up with animals hitching rides on other animals? We’ve had the weasel hitching a ride on a woodpecker, the frog riding the beetle, the cat-like creature riding a rhino, and now a raccoon riding on a boar!
The amazing photo, which is thought to have been taken in Texas, (back in 2007), was captured by an automatic camera, (aka a trail camera), close to a corn feeder. The photo is viralling once again and some speculated the raccoon was hitching a ride on the boar in order to reach the feeder – so both animals could pig out.

The adventurous flying frog stayed atop the insect for five minutes even as it tried to fly away and it was all caught on camera near Hendy's house in Sambas, Kalimantan Barat, in Indonesia.
The frog, a Reinwardt’s Flying Frog, is native to Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, and is classed as a near threatened species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
