A Machete Martial Arts Master Shares His Secrets | Short Film Showcase

In Haiti, the machete is both a weapon and a farmer’s key to survival. This dichotomy is especially true for Alfred Avril, a master machete fencer and subsistence farmer. The traditional art of machete fencing can be traced back to the Haitian Revolution. With fewer guns than the soldiers they were battling, many slaves fought with the machetes they had used to toil the sugarcane fields. In this short film from Third Horizon, Avril shares his mysterious craft as well as the practical and spiritual value of the machete throughout Haitian history.

Prankster Changes Famous 'HOLLYWOOD' Sign to 'HOLLYWEED' (+ Some Hollywood Sign FACTS! + Videos)

This must have taken some time - or so we thought. But if you look closely, you can see it was some mere cloth-coverings all in the right places that changed the two 'O's to 'E's. Ingenious! Many see this as a good sign and have posted their reactions on social media.
This wasn't the first time the sign was changed to 'HollyWEED' either.

Back on Jan. 1, 1976, the same day California’s relaxed marijuana law took effect. Cal State Northridge student Danny Finegood had a plan to alter the sign by using $50 of curtains and a couple friends. And it worked, giving Hollywood a Hollyweed sign for a short time. Check out some more interesting Hollywood Sign facts at the end!...

Mariah Carey Caught LIPSYNCING at Dick Clark's New Year Rockin' Eve 2017!

Or as The New York Times puts it: 'Mariah Carey’s New Year’s Eve Nightmare in Times Square' (read excerpt below).
We don't think anyone in the crowd seemed to care. Perhaps they were 'feeling good' too? Happy New Year US of A!!!...

Mariah Carey suffered through a performance train wreck in Times Square on New Year’s Eve as technical malfunctions left her at a loss vocally during her hit song “Emotions,” struggling to reach notes and to sync the lyrics and music.
The trouble continued when she gave up on another of her best-known numbers, “We Belong Together,” while a prerecording of the song continued to play, a confirmation that she had been lip-syncing.
It was a rare meltdown on national television by one of the top-selling recording artists of all time. - nytimes

Update:

All is not what it appears to be. It was technical glitches and as Carey’s manager Stella Bulochnikov puts it - "She should have walked off and thrown the mic at somebody’s head — that would have been a great moment." - yahoo
