Siberia's strongest woman, Oksana Kosheleva teaches a driver a lesson when she pulls him out of his vehicle, carries him over her shoulder - and locks him in the trunk of her car. ...
It all happened in a mall parking lot in Irkutsk, when a male driver cut in front of her. Kosheleva, 34, famous for pulling trucks and trams, is heard blasting him: 'You should learn how to park, there are kids around.'
The champion powerlifter dragged him from his car and carried him like a sack of potatoes to her vehicle where she locked him in the trunk, kicking him once before driving him 100 metres away and releasing him.
When interviewed later by a local TV station, Kosheleva replied, "I always try to avoid rude talks and, of course, fights. I simply decided to teach him a lesson, I wasn't planning to beat him up."
"I am a woman and fights are not for me. After driving for around 100 metres I stopped."

A stunning video that took three months to put together - by hand, according to website, Wired - "To fully appreciate the Martian landscape, one needs dimension and movement. In the video you see here, Finnish filmmaker Jan Fröjdman transformed HiRISE imagery into a dynamic, three-dimensional, overhead view of the Red Planet—no glasses required. For Fröjdman, creating the flyover effect was like assembling a puzzle." ...
The anaglyph images of Mars taken by the HiRISE camera holds information about the topography of Mars surface. There are hundreds of high-resolution images of this type. This gives the opportunity to create different studies in 3D. In this film I have chosen some locations and processed the images into panning video clips. There is a feeling that you are flying above Mars looking down watching interesting locations on the planet. And there are really great places on Mars! I would love to see images taken by a landscape photographer on Mars, especially from the polar regions. But I'm afraid I won't see that kind of images during my lifetime. (Please watch the film in 2K if possible for greater details.)
Jan Fröjdman
It has really been time-consuming making these panning clips. In my 3D-process I have manually hand-picked reference points on the anaglyph image pairs. For this film I have chosen more than 33.000 reference points! It took me 3 months of calendar time working with the project every now and then.
The colors in this film are false because the anaglyph images are based on grayscale images. I have therefore color graded the clips. But I have tried to be moderate doing this. The light regions in the clips are yellowish and the dark regions bluish. The clips from the polar regions (the last clips in the film) have a white-blue tone. There are a lot of opinions and studies of what the natural colors on Mars might be. But the dark regions of dust often seems to have a bluish tone. Please study this issue on e.g sites by NASA.
This film is not scientific. As a space enthusiast I have just tried to visualize the planet my way.
The video begins with a nearby approach to Mars moon Phobos.

China still has a startling number of vacant real-estate developments, judging from new satellite analysis by DigitalGlobe and Business Insider.
Chinese ghost cities have made headlines for nearly a decade, with huge new real-estate developments sitting mostly empty for years. Some see them as a sign China is heading for a real-estate crash. Others see them as just the typical style of urban expansion for a giant state-run economy.
While some ghost cities are reportedly filling in, the problem isn’t going away. A recent Baidu study of phone data gave clear evidence of 50 cities with areas of high vacancy. And just this fall China's richest man called Chinese real estate "the biggest bubble in history."
We looked inside some ghost cities with the latest in satellite technology, including time-lapse images, to show what’s making progress and what isn’t.

We've seen the world's shortest international flight, now check out one of the world's shortest commercial runway located on the Dutch Caribbean island of Saba at Yrausquin Airport, named after the Aruban Minister Juancho Irausquin...
Shortest runway in the world! HD 1080p, landing and take off, Saba airport (Yrausquin Airport)
The airport's risky reputation arises from the airport's physical position: it is flanked on one side by high hills; and on the runway's other side and both ends, cliffs drop into the sea. Additionally, the runway at the airport is extremely short (400m) this creates the possibility that an airplane could under/overshoot the runway during landing or takeoff and end up in the sea or dashed on the rocky cliffs.
Eli van Witsen
Although the airport is officially marked as closed to traffic (X), regional airline propeller aircraft are able to land there under waivers from The Netherlands Antilles' Civil Aviation Authority. The most common aircraft to land there are the Twin Otter and BN-2 Islander
Jet aircraft are unable to land at the airport, because the runway is too short (approx. 1,300 ft or 396 m). However, smaller airplanes (DHC-6, BN-2 and helicopters) are common sights there. There is a small ramp and terminal on the southwest flank of the runway. The ramp also has a designated helipad. The terminal building houses offices for Winair, immigration and security, a fire department with one fire truck and a tower. The tower is an advisory service only and does not provide air traffic control. Aviation fuel is not available on the island of Saba.
The only airline currently serving Yrausquin Airport is locally owned Winair, which operates daily flights to Sint Maarten and Sint Eustatius aboard a de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter.

So you want a cat that looks like a wild cat you say?...
By breeding house cats with wild animals, cat breeders developed hybrid cats that look like little leopards. Bengal cats are a breed that were developed from breeding domestic cats with asian leopard cats. The first American bengal breeder is a woman named Jean Mill, but her work has continued through other breeders. We met one of those breeders, Anthony Hutcherson, when we went to film the cats at the Westminster Dog Show. Besides bengals, we also saw another hybrid breed: savannahs. Instead of asian leopard cats, savannahs were developed by breeding house cats with servals. Unlike the other two breeds, the last breed we met, toygers, are not hybrid cats. Breeder Judy Sugden created the breed by carefully breeding domestic cats with qualities that resemble wild tigers.

Didn't we post a hagfish video back in January? Yes we did, but that was underwater, this time it's on land. We've never seen one slime it's way across a rock before. Pretty cool!...
When beachgoers at the town of Tirúa, Chile caught this writhing, slimy creature, they had no idea what it was.
National Geographic
Hagfish are outliers. Their lineage split off from all the world’s more familiar fish long, long ago—probably before they evolved a backbone, something hagfish still lack. Sometimes called “slime eels”—they are slimy, but they’re not eels—hagfish have changed surprisingly little in 300 million years. They make their home on the ocean floor, often very deep. They’re certainly not what Lissete Hermosilla and some friends and family were angling for on a recent fishing trip in the coastal town of Tirúa, Chile. But when they realized that the strange creature had gotten caught up in their fishing gear, they untangled it and set it down to identify. Hermosilla may have found the hagfish’s slime a little gross at first, but she was pleased to see that it made its twisting way back to the ocean.

A man and his friends were fishing at Jensen Beach in Florida when they spotted a blacktip shark that seemed to be caught in something. Fortunately for the shark, the beachgoers pulled it from the surf and removed a fishing line and hook from its body. Blacktip sharks migrate to Florida’s warmer waters in the winter. They’re around six feet long and often have encounters with humans since they hang out in shallow waters. Nonetheless, most incidents have involved minor bite wounds and there have been no known fatalities. Blacktip sharks are listed as “near threatened” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature due to commercial and recreational fishing.

As usual, Boston Dynamics' robots are fascinating to watch, like this latest one, Handle. And, as usual, they're still creepy as hell. Their latest video has around 4.5M views already...
Handle is a research robot that stands 6.5 ft tall, travels at 9 mph and jumps 4 feet vertically. It uses electric power to operate both electric and hydraulic actuators, with a range of about 15 miles on one battery charge. Handle uses many of the same dynamics, balance and mobile manipulation principles found in the quadruped and biped robots we build, but with only about 10 actuated joints, it is significantly less complex. Wheels are efficient on flat surfaces while legs can go almost anywhere: by combining wheels and legs Handle can have the best of both worlds.
