Flowers blooming 2

You can't help but appreciate the dedication and commitment that goes into creating such a magnificent video such as this...

It took nine months to capture a total of more than 40,000 shots. The video is composed of 24,626 shots. I could not estimate in advance the blooming period of each flower, so it was very hard to set the interval between each exposition. I chose 1-2 minutes. The longest blooming of Orchidea Dendrobium is over 105 hours. Therefore, it consumed more than 2000 shots. The fastest flowering flower was Succulent Faucaria and Hibiscus rosa-sinensis. Although blooming lasted only 7 hours, I shot about 1500 shots for everyone. I knew they would be fast and so I shorten the interval for 20 seconds. Very much postproduction work has led to the removal of the tiny insects that passed through the flowers during flowering. Just over three minutes of video shows incredible 929 hours of real time.

ICE SWIM | Feeling the power from the cold

Swedish photographer, Jonna Jinton shows us how to become one with nature, more specifically, with winter by going ice dipping - complete with some nice wooly socks. The video has been viewed over 1M times...

The winter is here again, and this time I wanted to prepare myself for this 6 cold months to come. This winter I want to feel the cold as a source of power, and not the opposite.
I thought that taking a little swim in the ice cold water is the best way to start this winter, to really get into the very core of how cold feels like. Almost like a ritual. The ice swim become a symbol for not letting the cold take control of me.

And it's a way of testing myself. It's a strange feeling to do something when my whole body tells me to not do it.

This is something I will try to do regularly during this winter. Because taking a ice swim really has the most amazing effect on our body and mind. I have never, ever felt so full of live as the two times I have taken a swim in ice cold water. It's like giving your body a power start.

This Dish Could Kill You

It must be really good for those who continue to risk their lives by eating this dish...

When Egypt’s Ministry of Health issues its annual warning to stay away from a local deadly delicacy called feseekh, you would think that most would comply. Instead, thousands flock to their local feseekh eateries every day to enjoy the traditional dish. Feseekh, or fermented mullet fish, can cause poisoning or even death if not prepared properly. That is why Ibrahim Shaheen, a local expert and maker of feseekh, takes extra care to make sure his fish are fermented properly. Using a technique that has been passed down his family for over 100 years, Shaheen carefully prepares the fish and sells it to restaurants all over Egypt. He understands the risk involved in eating and serving feseekh but for him, and countless others, the risk is worth the reward.

I refused to pay $400 for senior portraits so I edited them myself

Don't try this at home kids... and parents. This is illegal and the owner of this video has made it quite clear in the comment section on his YouTube page. In the meantime, we have to admit he does have a talent for photoshopping.  The video has been viewed over 2M times in less than two weeks...

OK OK TO CLARIFY SOME THINGS.
1. No I did not print these out, that’s ACTUALLY illegal because I’m profiting off of someone else’s work.
2. This was made just for entertainment and educational purposes, I don’t even have the file anymore.
3. Even if I wanted to print it out, I could literally count the pixels because it’s a screenshot.
4. I am a photographer and I know stealing and manipulating another person’s work is wrong, but it’s just to prove a point about how photographers, especially senior portrait ones, overcharge us.
5. We weren’t even allowed to look at our photos and had to pay for reshoots if we weren’t satisfied. If you blinked, too bad.
6. Photoshop is $10 a month.
7. It doesn’t let you download the file, so I had to screenshot.
8. I don’t want to hear ways around getting the larger file, this vid is a joke.
9. DONT DO THIS ITS ILLEGAL TO PRINT.

City Transformer - Introduction

Ever wanted a car that could adjust to size as needed? Your dreams might come true...

A car that can adjust its size according to need, and shrink self-effacingly when you’ve reached your destination, has long been a futuristic dream for those frustrated by clogged streets and minimal parking options. But an Israeli startup is attempting to make that dream a reality.

City Transformer, based in the central Israel moshav of Kfar Netter, is seeking to ease traffic jams by creating a car that can constrict or expand according to need. The vehicle it is developing has four wheels and a chassis that can expand from 1 meter (3 feet 3 inches) to 1.44 meters in width, transforming itself from a motorbike-like vehicle to a more stable small car and vice versa.
